Sister Kate, Managing Director, Sisters of the Valley, LLC
In the middle of Central Valley, where plants abound while jobs are sparse, Sister Kate was determined to create work and leadership opportunities for more women like her. She looked to the newest, most interesting deregulating market in her new home state of California: the cannabis industry. In the Fall of 2009, she founded a non-profit cannabis collective and opened for business in 2010. Here, she served cannabidiol medicine to local terminal patients, where she developed teas and tinctures for patients to experience its healing effects without needing to smoke it.
After three years of service, Sister Kate saw the need to share this safe, non-addictive and non-psychoactive formulation of the medicine with more people who needed it. And thus, alongside her goals to help more women and patients, the Sisters of The Valley was born. During the Harvest Moon of 2014, Sister Kate developed their first line of products and the Sisterhood did first commerce on January 1st of 2015. The Sisters ship their salves and tinctures to customers world-wide. They have three enclaves in America and recent, newly born enclaves in Mexico, Brazil, the UK, Sweden, and New Zealand.
