Joel Allcock, Cannabis and Hemp Industry Consultant
Joel Allcock has been a licensed cultivator of Cannabis in his native state of Rhode Island since 2006, where he was a licensed medical marijuana caregiver tasked with providing medical grade Cannabis for his registered patients. In 2009, Allcock co-founded a group applying for the first state licensed medical marijuana dispensary in Rhode Island. In the course of preparing the application for operation of a dispensary, Allcock traveled to California, Colorado and other states with medical marijuana programs to observe large scale, commercial cultivation operations and learn from master cultivators in the field.
In 2012, his group was awarded a license to operate the first dispensary in the state, the Thomas C. Slater Compassion Center. Mr. Allcock was instrumental in developing the plans for the project. He served as Director of Cultivation, as well as overseeing the harvesting, drying/ curing, packaging and manufacturing / processing and procurement departments. As part of his duties he was responsible for writing operation manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for these departments.
Joel served in this capacity, and as a founding Board Member at First State Compassion Center from January, 2015 - March 26, 2018. He established New Jersey residency in May, 2018 to pursue the opportunity to develop a model medical cannabis Alternative Treatment Center in Brick Township, New Jersey.
In October, 2019, Joel was hired as President of RI Hemp, a Rhode Island Hemp extraction business focused on the manufacture and sales of full spectrum and T-free CBD oil. He built a team of high performing employees, wrote SOP's and put in place processes and procedures for the business. Joel left RI Hemp in March, 2020 to focus on his consulting and hemp brokerage, where he facillitates large scale sales and purchases of CBD and CBG rich hemp flower.
