LinkedIn Engagement Pod

Welcome to my LinkedIn Engagement Pod. Here is a quick overview of how the pod works and our guidelines. If you have any questions you can email me at pod@eckfeldt.com.

Objectives

The goal of our LinkedIn Engagement Pod is to help business owners and thought leaders extend their reach and impact on LinkedIn by engaging in each other’s professional content in an effort to boost its creditability and awareness on the platform.

How it Works

POSTING: Send new posts to linkedin-engagement-pod@googlegroups.com with the subject line "NEW POST" and a link to your LinkedIn post (you can find the URL for a post in the three-dot menu under “Copy link to this post”)

LIKE/COMMENT/SHARE: When you get an email, click on the link in the email and it will open up the post in a browser (you will need to sign into LinkedIn) where you can then you can like, make your comment, and share with your network.

Community Guidelines

  • Keep content professional, inclusive, positive, and respectful (no politics, religion, rants, overly self-promotional posts, etc.)

  • Anyone can post content to the group up to THREE times a week (starting on Mondays)

  • Everyone agrees to LIKE as many posts as possible (ideally within one hour)

  • Everyone agrees to COMMENT and SHARE at least 5 posts a week (ideally more)

  • COMMENTS and SHARES must be more than 10 words and related to content

  • Everyone must contribute regularly (we will review activities and exit non-active members monthly)

FAQs

Do I need to put anything else the email when I send it out?
No, the idea is to keep it simple, just put NEW POST in the subject line and the URL in the body of the email.

Do I need to reply or let people know I’ve LIKE/COMMENT/SHARE the content?
No, we don’t want to create threads and overwhelm the group with emails. If you have a private comment for someone, take it out of the group and email them directly.

Do I need to LIKE everything?
LIKES are easy and we encourage you to do as many as possible. Use your professional discretion, if it’s something that would be awkward for you to like, then feel free to pass.

What if I see something that unprofessional or questionable?
Please email it to me directly and I’ll arbitrate. Send it privately to bruce@eckfeldt.com and I’ll take a look.

How many people are in the group?
I’m targeting the group to stay between around 50-100 people but will dial it in as things play out.

How else is in the group?
Once you’re added to the Google group you can look at the member list using this link.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/linkedin-engagement-pod

There are other companies like mine in the group, what can I do?
I’m taking a very light approach to curation of members. If you feel like there are direct competitors that make it uncomfortable, then this might not be the best group for you.

How do we make sure people are engaging?
While I’ll be reviewing activities monthly and exiting people who are clearly not engaging, this is a mutual trust situation. I’ve only invited people into the group who I feel are professional and active on LinkedIn and likely to engage. But there are no guarantees.

What if I feel I’m no longer a great fit for the group?
Totally understand and appreciate people who self assess their level of engagement. If you feel it’s no long the right fit, you can “unsubscribe” from the google group by clicking on the bottom of the link of any email.

I have different email address or I have a VA/EA, how do I add a different one?
Email me directly with your alternate email addresses and I’ll add them to the group, bruce@eckfeldt.com.

I know someone who would be a great addition to the group, how can they join?
Have them read this page and then fill out the application below and I’ll review and add the to the queue. Thanks!

Have other questions? Email them to bruce@eckfeldt.com and I’ll add them here.
